A Message

Written by: Jody Mugford

I had another article written for today but I’d been feeling unsettled about it all week.  I was driving home a couple nights ago and as I was worshipping God in my car, I felt His presence quite strongly.  He was impressing a thought on my heart and I feel like it needs to be shared with all of you.

The thought?  There. Is. More.

If you’ve read my posts before, you know that I frequently encourage us to dig and go deeper with God.  I write this sentiment as much for myself as for anyone else reading.  Often, I try to write about another topic but God keeps bringing me back to this same theme and tonight, I felt it strongly spoken to my heart.  There. Is. More.

I don’t know where you are in your spiritual journey.  Maybe you are just starting to walk with the Lord, or you’ve been serving Him for many years.  Maybe you don’t know Jesus personally at all.  Wherever you are, friends, I feel God wanting me to clearly say that He has more for you.  His mercies are never-ending and His love knows no bounds.  There are no limits to how much He cares for you and wants you to come to know Him.  He has wave upon wave of healing, peace, joy and restoration to pour into your heart.  He has boldness and courage to build up in you.  He has experiences He wants to shower upon you and mysteries to reveal to you.

You are not meant to walk through this life brokenhearted, lost or alone.  Jesus is here and He is very real.  If you haven’t met Him yet and you’re wondering what this is all about, may I challenge you to ask Him?  Call out to Him wholeheartedly and ask Him to speak to you.  Open a bible or reach out to someone who knows and loves Him and ask them questions.  Listen to your heart and see if you feel Him tugging at you.  He loves you.  He died for you and for me.  He rose from the dead to conquer sin and death, to bridge the gap we could never close, so we could have a relationship with God!  So we could have eternal life in Heaven!  This is GOOD NEWS!!!!  Listen to your heart and see if you hear Him calling…

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”  John 3:16

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  John 14:6

If you are already walking with the Lord, that is so wonderful.  We have accepted the greatest gift of all – salvation.  The Lord wants to remind us that, wherever we are in our journey with Him, He has more.  We can know Him more than we do now.  We can hear Him more frequently.  We can see Him more clearly.  Wherever we are, There. Is. More.  There are higher heights and deeper depths to discover.  As we dig in, spending time with Him regularly through prayer, studying His Word and worshipping Him, He will strengthen us and equip us for all He has called us to do.  He is calling us out of the realm of complacency and apathy.  He is telling us that those days are over!  He is rising up a people who are passionately dedicated to Him and He plans to do awesome things through them.  We need to learn to hear Him and see Him and we must surrender our plans to Him.  All of them.  His plans are so much greater and more amazing than we could ever imagine.  He is calling us, friends.  He is waiting for us to step out in faith and trust…to leap.  He will carry us.

“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you.  And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”  Ezekiel 36:26

“And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.”  Colossians 1:9-12

I hope this message has resonated with you.  I don’t know if there is someone specifically who needs to read this but I think it applies to many of us, myself included.  I’ve come to realize that a life following Jesus can be exciting and joyful, peace-filled and full of purpose.  It is certainly not boring!  To be in His will, doing what He wants us to do is the absolute most magnificent place to be.  Nothing compares.  Will you join me?

Love and blessings,
