Today was another field trip day. I have shared how these days are not my favorite usually before, but today was different. This field trip was to a local farm and its was close. No trying to find my way alone, and my sweet baby wanted to be with just me.
We had to get to the farm before the kids and wait for them to arrive on the bus. The weather was perfect and the sun was shining so bright. The grass at the farm was so green and there were so many little calves in the pasture. I walked up to the fence and stared at those cute calves while I waited. A couple of them noticed I was standing there so I tried calling them over. They all looked at me but none would come. Then way out in the pasture, stopped eating, looked up and came right at me.
She moved with determination and purpose and came right to me. I wanted to pet her so I waited for her. She came close then started sniffing me out. She smelled my leg and then before I knew it I got a nice nibble right on the toe of my shoe! I jerked my foot back and she stepped away. I held my hand back out and she came right back. I scratched her right behind her ears and she just stayed there enjoying it for a little while.
I wondered why the others wouldn’t come over. After all I’m sure they don’t get a scratch behind their ears everyday. I thought and wondered and then my mind went to us. I know its funny how I can look at a pasture full of cows and then think about people. I did though. I thought about how often we miss out on things because we are to scared to go get them.
That one cow came boldly to see what I had to offer her. She came, checked it out and enjoyed a nice little scratch behind her ears. While the others stared and wondered she experienced. I wonder how often we just sit back and wait and watch God work and do things for others and never get to experience it because we are to scared or worried.
The Bible tells us in Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
We can approach the throne of grace with confidence. We can approach boldly to receive. We do not have to just wonder. We do not have to just wish. We do not have to wait and see what will happen. We can boldly go to Christ and receive.
Christ died, rose, and now is at the right hand of the Father interceding for you and I. He is with you when you receive him as your Savior and he longs for you to run to him boldly with everything. He wants to hear your struggles and your victories. He wants to hear you sins and heal you. He wants you to come to Him and receive.
If you don’t have a personal relationship with Him, he’s waiting. Waiting for you to boldly come to him and receive salvation. To receive the hope of a future and relationship with him on this earth and in eternity.
He is waiting for us to come boldly and be a part of all he is doing. He does not want us to sit on the sideline but come to him and receive. Let us all approach the throne room of grace with boldness and receive.
